A traditional mojito has muddled mint, rum, lime, club soda, and a little bit of sugar and it’s a classic summer drink. While classics are great, we decided to give this drink a modern twist by using basil leaves instead of mint. We used Italian basil leaves, a variety of basil that you’ll commonly see in grocery stores, but if you get your hands on Thai basil leaves, go for it! Thai basil is just as aromatic and refreshing as Italian basil, and has a slight anise flavor. Whichever basil you use, you’ll have a refreshing summer sipper best enjoyed outside and with friends.
